Location: Lancaster, PA

Hours: Part Time (20 hours per week). Nights (7pm-7am). On-call requirements. Rotating weekends and holidays.

Sign-on Bonus: Up to $15,000. Prorated based on FTE. 2-year commitment. Eligibility requirements - 15+ months of RN experience, external candidates only.

Each day, our Emergency Department treats 300 to 400 patients with chronic and acute issues, ranging from sore throats and ear infections to more serious conditions like stroke and heart attack. Lancaster General Hospital is a Level I-accredited Trauma Center with a recently expanded ED.

Summary:

  • Assume responsibility and accountability as defined by the American Nurses Association standards of nursing practice. Practice as a full partner on the healthcare team, demonstrating safe practice within the organizational professional practice model.
  • Possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude to meet standards for competent professional nursing practice. Independently provide patient care using the nursing process and accept accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients, ranging in age from infancy to elderly.
  • Demonstrate competencies in Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence-Based Practice and Research, Leadership, Person and Family Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Technology Informatics, and Teamwork.
  • Work closely with the interprofessional healthcare team to coordinate care across the continuum. Focus on providing individualized care considering physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-appropriate factors.
  • Seek feedback in assuming leadership roles and provide feedback for improved clinical practice. Comply with all regulations and standards of regulatory and accrediting bodies.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • RN licensure issued by the PA Board of Nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
  • Completion of the Nurse Residency Program or more than 15 months of practice.
  • CPR Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support, required within 30 days of hire.
  • In good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs, i.e., not excluded from participation.
