Job summary

AdventHealth East Campus Emergency Department in Orlando, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for Night shift to join a high-volume ED. This role involves patient assessments, care planning, medication administration and patient education within a busy academic medical center.

The position requires a Florida RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, and enables growth in a faith-based, family-oriented environment with strong teamwork and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• AS degree in Nursing required.
• Current Florida RN or compact licensure.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications current.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments across physical, psychological, developmental and social factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and reassess as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments per orders and monitor for adverse effects.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate care and ensure effective communication.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record.

Job Description:

Up to $15,000 Sign-on Bonus and up to $3,000 Relocation Assistance available to eligible candidates (see terms below)

Sign-on Eligibility:

Unit Highlights:

• The East Orlando Emergency Department has 80 treatment areas and sees over 104,000 patients each year, ranging from infants to geriatric.
• AdventHealth East Campus Emergency Department is an academic medical center providing Post Graduate training for Physicians (3 medical residencies).
• Our ED is also a clinical training environment for Nurses and Ancillary Support Personal. Schedule:

Full-time, 36 hours per week

Shift:

Nights, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am (with weekend rotation)

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.

What You Need to Succeed:

• Associate of Science degree in Nursing
• Current State of Florida or Multistate licensure as a Registered Nurse
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
