Qualifications

Qualifications: The duties, responsibilities, and competencies outlined are necessary for performing the essential functions of the job. Specific duties may be adjusted by the department manager as needed.

Education and Experience: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school, licensed as an RN in Maryland, and have completed required hospital, nursing, and unit orientations, including BLS and medication certifications. Demonstrates proficiency at the Clinical Nurse I level and meets eligibility for Clinical Nurse II. ACLS required (PACU, ICCU, ED); NALS required (Obstetrical-Nursery) or eligible for completion within six months. Specialty certification is preferred. Telemetry nurses must pass a basic arrhythmia exam and recognize critical rhythms.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Valid Maryland RN license, BLS certification, ACLS (required), NRP (required or within six months). Specialty certifications are preferred.
