Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This full-time night-shift RN role offers 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

with every-other weekend and holiday rotation, and a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 for qualified applicants. The role involves managing patient care in a high-volume ED, with orientation through a nurse residency program and opportunities for professional development.

Registered Nurse (RN) — Emergency Department at Sentara Leigh Hospital, Norfolk, VA, full time nights.

Position Status & Hours

Position Status: Full-time, 36 hours per week.

Shift: Night shift.

Available Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

Weekends: Every other weekend availability required.

Holiday Rotation: Required.

What You Will Do

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide competent, patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. You will apply clinical knowledge and sound judgment while demonstrating professional standards in ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.

Education Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Students completing an accredited nursing program may be considered

Certification / Licensure Requirements

• Registered Nurse license required
• Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nurse license may be considered
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
• NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred

Experience Requirements

• Prior RN experience preferred
• Emergency Department experience preferred
• Strong candidates with related acute care, critical care, intermediate care, trauma, cardiac, stroke, or med/surg experience are encouraged to apply

We're excited to share our starting pay rate for new graduate registered nurses with less than 1 year of experience is $36.00/hour.

Compensation

The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
