Current PALS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current license to practice in the state of New Hampshire.

Experience:

One year Medical/Surgical nursing experience or 6 months of emergency room or critical care nursing experience preferred.

Compensation:
  • Min: $38.18
  • Max: $53.56

Part Two: Functional Responsibility
Position Objective

The Emergency Services Staff Nurse provides direct nursing care to patients in the Emergency Room with acute/primary care and emergent medical needs. The patient population ranges from pediatric to elderly adults. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, establishing priorities and setting goals based on current standards of emergency nursing practice. Maintains competency with medical equipment and adheres to hospital, nursing, and unit policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of medication administration tailored to patient age and condition.
  • Adheres to the seven medication rights to minimize errors.
  • Uses an integrated approach to patient care to enhance safety and reduce errors.
  • Develops and revises individualized care plans based on patient response.
  • Communicates effectively with interdisciplinary teams and coordinates care.
  • Organizes and prioritizes job functions efficiently.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Performs comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments.
  • Uses assessment data to identify care needs, including patient education and discharge planning.
  • Recognizes abnormal findings and revises care plans accordingly.
  • Documents all patient care activities accurately and legibly.
  • Delegates tasks appropriately to team members.
  • Demonstrates unit-specific competencies.
