Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care using the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within scope of practice, guides patient and family teaching, and supervises other nursing staff in Telemetry. The RN is directly accountable for patient care in the Emergency Department, communicating with physicians about clinical changes, diagnostic results, and symptoms. Must respond quickly to changes in patient condition and be knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting abuse. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Training

• Current and valid state RN License
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS/ENPC certificates, with specific timelines for renewal
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days
• Minimum one year of experience as an RN in an acute care or ER setting; CEN certification and BSN preferred

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN certification within 12 months
• EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric courses within 6 months
• Non-OB facilities: NRP certification within 90 days
• Trauma Nurse Core Course within 12 months

Salary range: $48.65 to $65.40 per hour. Final offer depends on experience, education, and credentials.
