Baptist Health Corbin Emergency Department (ED) is hiring a Registered Nurse for the 2nd shift in Corbin, KY. This Level IV Trauma ED has 28 beds and offers around-the-clock care across all ages, with a fast-track area and a behavioral health intake section to handle diverse patient needs.

The role requires strong nursing judgment, supervision of support staff, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
  • Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
  • Basic Life Support is required. New employees requiring CPR-BLS should receive training within the first week of orientation.
  • Glucometer Training within 6 months.
  • 12 Lead and TNCC certifications within indicated timeframes.

Baptist Health Corbin Emergency Department (ED) is a Level IV Trauma Designated unit with 28 beds that provides comprehensive, around-the-clock care to patients of all ages. The department treats a wide range of conditions, from non-emergent complaints to life-threatening illnesses and injuries. A dedicated split-flow area supports efficient evaluation and treatment of fast-track patients with lower acuity needs. Additionally, the ED includes a behavioral health intake area designed to safely assess and manage patients presenting with mental health and behavioral health concerns.

Performs care requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based uponthe principles of psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards. Must possessthe ability to supervise LPNs, CNAs, Techs, Unit Secretaries, and Clinical students. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.
