Ellicott Center in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Registered Nurse Educator to lead staff development, orientation, and ongoing education to ensure best practices and high-quality resident care. You will coach staff, coordinate infection control and OSHA protocols, support performance improvement, and collaborate with leadership on education initiatives while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Competenze

• Minimum 3 years of Nurse Educator experience in long-term care.
• Current New York State RN license.
• CPR certification required (trainer preferred).
• Experience with infection control, safety, and emergency preparedness.
• Commitment to discretion and confidentiality.

Ellicott Center, a skilled nursing facility in Buffalo, NY, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Educator to join our team.

The Nurse Educator is responsible for staff development, employee health programs, orientation, and ongoing education to ensure best practices, compliance, and quality care. The role involves coaching and training staff, monitoring performance, and helping maintain a strong culture of professional growth and excellent resident care. This position reports to the Director of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff development programs on safety, infection control, body mechanics, and other regulatory topics
• Coach, counsel, and support staff performance; may participate in disciplinary processes
• Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking
• Document educational activity, attendance, and outcomes
• Participate in QAPI meetings and initiatives
• Collaborate with leadership to plan, coordinate, and implement staff education
• Assist with data collection for staff assessments and evaluations
• Maintain effective relationships with employees, leadership, and external partners
• Oversee employee health initiatives including TB testing, Hepatitis B vaccines, OSHA reporting, and return-to-work coordination
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of Nurse Educator experience in long-term care
• Current New York State RN license
• CPR certification required (CPR trainer certification preferred or willingness to obtain)
• Prior long-term care or rehabilitation nursing experience
• Strong coaching and communication skills with diverse staff
• Knowledge of OSHA, infection control, safety, and emergency preparedness protocols
