Job summary

Northwell Health’s Danbury Hospital in Connecticut is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Delivery Room. This full-time role requires skilled assessment, planning and delivery of care for women in labor, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity setting.

The position offers 36 hours weekly with a 7:00 pm–7:30 am shift, including holidays and weekends. CT RN license and BLS are required; ACLS/NRP must be obtained within the stated timelines.

Qualifications

• State CT RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 6 months L&D (RN) experience.
• ACLS, NRP certifications required or must be obtained within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessments focusing on physiologic, psychological and cognitive status.
• Formulates a goal-directed plan of care and prioritizes nursing diagnoses.
• Implements care in a knowledgeable, skilled, and continuous manner.
• Establishes priorities of patient care based on needs and resources.
• Evaluates care effectiveness and patient progress toward outcomes.
• Coordinates learning needs and educates patients/families as appropriate.
• Coordinates interdisciplinary functions within the unit.
• Fulfills compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary

Provides professional care and assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with other health care team members.

Required Qualifications

Required: State of CT RN license.BLS certification required.Minimum 6 months of L&d (RN) experience required. ACLS, NRP certifications required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire. EFM certifications required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Hours: 36.00 control hours

Work Shift: 7:00pm-7:30am with holiday and weekend requirements
