Job summary

Summit Oaks Hospital in Summit, New Jersey, is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to join its behavioral health and acute care team. The position runs 7am–7pm, three days per week (36 hours), with opportunities to cover additional shifts and overtime.

A $12,000 sign‑on bonus is available. The hospital offers in-house residency transition-to-practice orientation, career development across UHS locations, competitive pay, generous PTO and comprehensive benefits, plus 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• Current New Jersey RN licensure; BSN/BS preferred.
• Minimum 1 year psychiatric nursing experience, or 2 years medical/surgical with leadership and strong clinical skills.
• Graduate of NLN accredited program preferred.
• ANA Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing certification preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and respond to medical needs of patients under physician guidance.
• Conduct safety checks and implement behavioral management techniques.
• Monitor, report, and document patient behaviors and overall well being.
• Administer medications and treatments under the treatment team's guidance.

This is a Full Time position from 7am - 7pm, 3 days a week, 36 hours a week. There is opportunity to cover various shifts and pick up overtime if interested. This position qualifies for a $12,000 Sign on Bonus.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:

• Current New Jersey RN licensure; BSN/BS preferred.
• Minimum requirements are one (1) year of psychiatric nursing experience, or two (2) years of medical/surgical experience with proven leadership, strong clinical skills, and high motivation.
• Graduate of NLN accredited program preferred.
• ANA Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing certification preferred.
• CPR certification required.
