Job summary

Gulfport Behavioral Health System is seeking a qualified Staff Nurse (RN) to coordinate and evaluate patient care within a psychiatric hospital setting. The RN will work collaboratively with the health care team to provide high-quality care across pediatric to adult populations.

Shifts are 12 hours (7a-7p or 7p-7a) with rotating weekends. A BSN is preferred, and Mississippi RN licensure is required. CPR and CPI certifications must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• A minimum of one year experience in a psychiatric health-care facility is preferred.
• Current Mississippi State Board of Nursing license to practice.
• Must pass medication administration exam; CPR and CPI certification within 90 days of employment.

• Coordinates, prescribes, and evaluates patient care in collaboration with the health team.
• Care for diverse patient populations including children, adolescents and adults.

Position Summary

Join a team where the Staff Nurse (RN) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. Opportunities to work with various patient populations including children, adolescents and adults. Our nurses work 12 hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a) with some rotating weekends.

Walk-In Wednesdays - Interviews for RNs on Wednesday from 9am-12pm

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing.

Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and CPI certification (Management of Aggressive Behavior) including restraint and seclusion policies, within 90 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures. Training can be obtained during new hire orientation.

Hours: 12-hour shifts, 7a - 7p. Rotating weekends.
