Job summary

Chicago Behavioral Hospital in Des Plaines, IL seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to join a close-knit, compassionate team. You will coordinate, assess, and document patient care using the nursing process within our standards of care and practices.

You will actively engage with the health care team, monitor patients’ physical and psychological conditions, and contribute to tailored goals with the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program and Illinois RN license.
• Minimum three years’ experience in a psychiatric facility preferred.
• CPR certification and aggression management training within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage in the healthcare team, providing direct and indirect patient care.
• Assess patients’ physical and psychological conditions throughout care.

Shift differential available depending on the shift

The Registered Nurse assesses, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices.

• Actively engage in the health care team, offering direct and indirect care to patients, families, and legal guardians.
• Assess patients' physical and psychological conditions continuously throughout their care journey.
• Utilize the nursing process in alignment with the philosophy, objectives, values, mission, and core principles of CBH.
• Uphold a safe therapeutic environment grounded in our core values.
• Collaborate as an integral member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, actively contributing to the development, implementation, and documentation of tailored goals and interventions based on patient strengths and psychiatric challenges.

Your Experience Matters

• Education & Licensure: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Currently licensed to practice by the Illinois State Board of Nursing
• Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric facility preferred
• Additional Skill Requirements: CPR certification and management of aggressive behavior training within 30 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.

Compensation

• This is a full-time role and the expected compensation range for this role is $34.00 - $52.00 an hour, plus free medical coverage up to family coverage.
• Days: $34.00 - $49.00/hr(includes shift differential)
• Nights: $34.00 - $50.00/hr (includes shift differential)
• Weekend Days: $34.00 - $51.00/hr (includes shift differential)
• Weekend Nights: $34.00 - $52.00/hr (includes shift differential)
• Opt out of medical insurance coverage for additional compensation!
