Job summary

Midwest Center at Youngstown is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our detox-focused team. You will provide compassionate care to patients struggling with addiction, guide them through detox, educate on conditions, and support physicians in clinical reporting.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate's degree in Nursing, RN license in good standing, CPR certification, and experience in psychiatric care, with familiarity of ASAM/JCAHO standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing or higher.
• 1+ years of RN experience in detox or similar treatment setting (strongly preferred).
• State RN license in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Psychiatric nursing experience required.
• Ability to recognize withdrawal pain signs and critically dangerous medical emergencies.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with ASAM criteria and JCAHO Standards of Care for Behavioral Health.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through detox per physician's orders.
• Educate patients about their condition and assist with accurate clinical reporting.
• Perform nursing assessments at intake and discharge nursing actions.
• Administer prescribed medications and make independent decisions within scope.
• Monitor and record patient care through Electronic Health System.
• Follow Universal Infection Control Precautions and log controlled substance distribution.

• Educate patients about their condition and assist the physician and ARNP with accurate clinical reporting
• Perform nursing assessments at intake and discharge nursing actions
• Administer prescribed medications and make independent decisions within your scope of practice
• Monitor and record patient care through our Electronic Health System
• Follow Universal Infections Control Precautions and maintain accurate logs of controlled substance distribution

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing or higher
• 1+ years of experience as a RN in a detox or similar treatment facility environment (strongly preferred)
• State RN license in good standing
• Current CPR certification
• Psychiatric nursing experience required
• Ability to recognize signs and symptoms of withdrawal pain and critically dangerous medical emergencies
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with ASAM criteria and JCAHO Standards of Care for Behavioral Health
