Overview

New Grad Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU (Critical Care) – Fairfield Hospital. The RN position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by assessing status, determining priorities, implementing clinical interventions for acute and critical patients, developing and performing patient care plans to improve outcomes, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
• Determine the priority of the patient’s problems and needs
• Implement clinical nursing interventions for acute, critical patients requiring intensive medical care
• Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conduct and analyze initial and ongoing patient assessment, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness
• Synthesize and prioritize information to take immediate, evidence-based, patient-focused action using clinical judgment and inquiry
• Anticipate and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions
• Administer medications safely in accordance with state practice and organizational policies
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, not required

Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or RN applicant
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred, not required)
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (required within 6 months of hire)

Experience

• Previous experience as an LPN or Patient Care Tech/CNA (preferred)
