Newport News, Virginia Hiring Range $33.00 - $66.00/Hourly Actual pay is determined by program, work commitment and business needs Overview Critical Care Float RN Works under the supervision of the Nurse manager and the Director and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN is required to float to a variety of settings in the Critical Care/Telemetry Complex or the Emergency Services Complex at RHS Trauma Center per requirements in PRN Float Agreement. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. Must demonstrate competence in dealing with age related needs of the specific patient populations served in the Critical Care/Telemetry units/departments. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans.
Education Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Preferred) or Associates Degree, Nursing (Preferred) or Program Graduate, Nursing (Nursing Diploma is minimum education requirement, Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Nursing accepted in lieu of Nursing Diploma) (Required) and High School Diploma or GED, HS Diploma/GED only required if Nursing Diploma Graduate (Required) Experience 2 years Hospital RN experience in Critical Care (Required) Skills and Abilities Demonstrates ability to work schedule requirements in PRN Float Agreement Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) or compact state Upon Hire(Required) and CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required) and ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required) Other Requirements Weekend Shifts Irregular Shifts Work/Float in more than one work location
