Department: Inpatient Psychiatry- 6 Ridgeway
Hours: Part Time 24 hrs/week
Shift: 12 hr AM 7am-7pm

UC Health is hiring a Part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the 6 Ridgeway Psychiatry unit at UC Medical Center.

This is a 20-bed, mixed Geriatric/Psychiatric co-ed unit focusing on the treatment of older adults, many aged 55 and older, with primary psychiatric diagnoses.

Unit Details:

  • Experience a variety of behavioral health diagnoses.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Current Ohio RN License.
  • BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications as required by department based on patient needs.
  • Minimum six months of direct patient care experience in a psychiatric setting or equivalent coursework in nursing, psychology, or social work.

Hours: Part-time, 24 hours/week

Shift: 12-hour day shift

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized nursing care based on biological, physical, behavioral, social, and cultural knowledge, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise interdisciplinary care plans collaboratively with healthcare team members and patients/families.
  • Communicate care plans effectively to team members and prioritize care based on patient assessments and needs.
  • Provide clear instructions to patients and families regarding treatment, involving them in care decisions.
  • Identify and respond to behavioral health needs, psychological issues, and cultural or religious norms.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and teamwork in care delivery.
  • Document nursing care accurately and concisely, including treatment evaluations, in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for new staff, float personnel, and others on the unit.
  • Maintain personal professional development and contribute to the ongoing education of peers and colleagues.
