Location: UC Medical Center
Department: 8 East, Med Surg - GI/Liver/CF
Hours: Full Time, 36 Hours/Week
Shift: 12 Hour AM

UC Health is hiring a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Nurse (CN I) for the Gastrointestinal 8 East unit for the Day Shift at UC Medical Center.

The Gastrointestinal Nurse will support the Medical Centers medicine and Level 1 Trauma Center, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures. This 16 bed unit has ratios ranging from 4 to 6 patients per nurse. This nurse will help manage liver patients (pre and post-transplant), cystic fibrosis patients, many off-service patients and some behavioral health components with medical needs.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Associate's Degree, minimum required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred
  • Current OH RN License
  • Current BLS/ACLS/PALS per department requirements based on patient population needs.

  • Nursing process is accurately and concisely documented, including evaluation of treatment and in accordance to hospital policy and procedure.
  • Acts as a resource person and mentor for new personnel, floater, and/or supplemental staff working on the unit.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal professional development and contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others.
