The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS is seeking a night shift, full-time Med/Surg Registered Nurse to coordinate safe patient care for diverse populations using evidence-based practices and teamwork with the healthcare team.

The RN will assess needs, set goals, evaluate care delivery, and continually revise the plan of care to meet biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and educational needs.

Qualifications

• Current Kansas RN Licensure.
• Associate’s degree in nursing.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer and before direct patient care.
• ACLS required for Tele, ICU, and PCU.
• On post-surgery settings Oncology certification.
• All certifications must be completed within the first year of employment.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Preferred: At least one year of experience; proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safe patient care delivery for diverse patient populations.
• Assess patient/family needs and revise the plan of care accordingly.
• Delegate care to optimize patient outcomes and ensure safety.
• Adhere to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities:

• The Registered Nurse functions under the direction of the Nurse Director/Manager and is responsible for coordination of safe patient care delivery for specified and diverse patient populations.
• The RN assesses patient/family needs, develops and prioritizes patient goals, evaluates care delivery, and continually revised the plan of care to meet the biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and educational needs of the patient/family.
• The RN Delegates care as appropriate to optimize patient outcomes.
• The RN adheres to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.
