Job summary

Wellington Regional Medical Center in Wellington, FL, is seeking a Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) for a Per Diem role. The position offers on-call responsibilities during weekdays and weekends with potential overtime and shift coverage opportunities.

The Imaging Procedural Nurse will assist the cardiologist and interdisciplinary team, cross-train across imaging services, and maintain NIHSS stroke readiness with ongoing stroke training. A commitment to patient safety and quality care is essential.

Qualifications

• Current Florida RN license and active certification in BLS and ACLS.
• Minimum two years of Cardiac Cath nursing experience preferred.
• Willingness to cross-train to other imaging areas and work on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist cardiology team in the cath lab during interventional procedures.
• Provide perioperative nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
• Maintain stroke readiness and NIHSS training annually.

This is a Per Diem opportunity, offers overtime and opportunity to cover various shifts if interested.

Shift: Schedule 7am-3:30pm. Requirement for On Call during weekdays and weekend shifts.

Role and Responsibilities

The Imaging Procedural Nurse is responsible and accountable for all nursing care provided to their patients. The nurse is accountable to the patient, Department Manager, Department Director, Medical Director, and Chief Nurse Officer. Under the direction of the Department Manager and Medical Director, the Imaging Procedural Nurse is responsible for assisting the cardiologist and other allied professionals, both technically and clinically in the assessment, planning, executing and evaluating the care of Interventional patients. The Imaging Procedural Nurse must be willing to cross train and float to other Imaging Service areas to meet the needs of the facility. Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead. Verbalizes stroke alert process. Performs and documents the NIHSS, administration and monitoring of thrombolytic therapy if patient deemed a candidate, preparation of patient for Endovascular treatment as indicated, assumes patient care of the stroke alert while in Interventional Radiology Department. Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the NIHSS training and a minimum of 8 hours of stroke related training annually.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an RN program accredited through the ACEN, CCNE, or CNEA
• Current registered nurses license in the State of Florida
• Minimum of two (2) year’sLevel 2 Cardiac Cath experiencepreferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS
• Willingness tobe cross trained to other areas
• CCRN preferred
• Basic computer skills
