Job summary

Wellington Regional Medical Center is seeking a Cath Lab - Registered Nurse (RN) for Per Diem coverage in Wellington, FL. The shift is 7am-3:30pm with on-call requirements on weekdays and weekends, offering overtime opportunities and shift flexibility.

You will collaborate with cardiology staff in interventional care, with cross-training across imaging services as needed. Florida-licensed RN with Level 2 Cardiac Cath experience preferred; BLS/ACLS required; CCRN preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an RN program accredited through recognized bodies.
  • Current Florida RN license required.
  • Minimum of two years Cardiac Cath experience preferred.
  • Current BLS and ACLS are required.
  • Willingness to cross-train to other areas.
  • CCRN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the cardiologist and team in interventional patient care from assessment to evaluation.
  • Cross-train and float to other imaging service areas as needed.
  • Recognize stroke signs and execute NIHSS and stroke alert procedures; assist Endovascular treatment prep.
  • Maintain NIHSS training with at least 8 hours annually and support patient safety and quality care.

Role And Responsibilities

The Imaging Procedural Nurse is responsible and accountable for all nursing care provided to their patients. The nurse is accountable to the patient, Department Manager, Department Director, Medical Director, and Chief Nurse Officer. Under the direction of the Department Manager and Medical Director, the Imaging Procedural Nurse is responsible for assisting the cardiologist and other allied professionals, both technically and clinically in the assessment, planning, executing and evaluating the care of Interventional patients. The Imaging Procedural Nurse must be willing to cross train and float to other imaging service areas to meet the needs of the facility. Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead. Verbalizes stroke alert process. Performs and documents the NIHSS, administration and monitoring of thrombolytic therapy if patient deemed a candidate, preparation of patient for Endovascular treatment as indicated, assumes patient care of the stroke alert while in Interventional Radiology Department. Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the NIHSS training and a minimum of 8 hours of stroke related training annually.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an RN program accredited through the ACEN, CCNE, or CNEA
  • Current registered nurses license in the State of Florida
  • Minimum of two (2) year’s Level 2 Cardiac Cath experience preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS
  • Willingness to be cross trained to other areas
  • CCRN preferred
  • Basic computer skills
