Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This full-time role features 3x12-hour night shifts and a $20,000 commitment-incentive bonus to welcome you to our high-performance team.

You will assess patients, implement care plans, and collaborate with a skilled multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced CVICU environment that emphasizes quality and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Active NC RN license (single-state) or compact; if relocating, update PSOR before employment.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• Two+ years ICU/CVICU or PCU experience required.
• One year CVICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately perform patient assessments and identify needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide age-appropriate care and timely documentation of medical necessity.
• Complete and revise interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.
• Conduct timely QI assessments.

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)at Frye Regional Medical Center is an 8-bed unit known for its exceptional teamwork, supportive culture, and commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. Our close-knit team works collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, fostering professional growth, and meaningful relationships. Nurses in the CVICU have the opportunity to care for critically ill patients while being supported by experienced colleagues and engaged leadership dedicated to their success.

How you'll contribute

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we're looking for

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• Two or more years of ICU, CVPCU/ CV Tele, or PCU/ Intermediate Step-Down experience required.
• One year of CVICU experience preferred.
