Johnson Memorial Hospital is looking for a Register Nurse (RN) / Cardiac Pulmonary Rehabilitation Specialist to join our mission-drive Cardiopulmonary Rehab team located in Enfield, CT. We are a member of Trinity Health Of New England’s family bringing compassionate care to our communities.

The Cardiac Pulmonary Rehab Nurse Specialist is a RN who provides care to adult and geriatric, cardiac and/or pulmonary patients in the area of telemetry monitoring, exercise, education and psychosocial support. This position collaborates with other disciplines in the assessment, implementation, development and evaluation of care plans and outcomes.

Job Details

You Will Be Responsible For:

• Exceptional Patient Care: Assists in developing appropriate exercise prescriptions and treatment regimen for an adult population of cardiac rehab patients
• Excellent Communicator: Provides comprehensive education regarding exercise and overall health promotion for normal and high risk-populations
• Technical Familiarity: Functions independently in to prepare patients for various forms of exercise testing and perform the exercise tests under the supervision of the cardiologist.
• Active Teamwork: interacts in a positive manner with colleagues and creating a collaborative work environment. Initiates open communication, conveys positive intent and offers assistance.
• Delivers quality, cost-effective patient care based on criteria that is age appropriate and is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety, and learning needs of the individual patient. Implements exercise prescriptions under medical supervision within the scope of nursing practice.
• Assesses psychosocial needs of the patient as it relates to cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and provides psychosocial support and interventions based upon individual patient needs.
• Utilizes quality improvement data to identify need for changes in systems or practice or to identify educational needs to improve the quality of care.

Work Hours/Shift:

• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours, Monday through Thursday, working 7:00 am to 5:30 pm

Location:

• Enfield. CT

Requirements:

• Bachelor's in nursing (BSN), preferred
• Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in Connecticut.
• Current ACLS required
• Minimum 1-year ICU/CCU/Ed Experience
• Telemetry reading skills required
• Previous cardiac rehabilitation experience preferred (Inpatient and Outpatient).
• Exercise leadership and patient teaching skills.
