Overview

Memorial Hospital Belleville and Memorial Hospital Shiloh are accredited, Magnet-recognized hospitals providing comprehensive medical, surgical, critical, and emergency care, including specialized pediatric emergency services. They offer a full range of diagnostic and treatment services, heart and vascular care, and are designated as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital and Lung Cancer Screening Center.

The Med Surg 5th Floor cares for adult medical/surgical/telemetry patients, including those pre and post cardiac catheterizations, surgical patients, and respiratory or renal issues.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Promote patient and family-centered care, educate on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
• Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and compliance, and engage in professional development.
• Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, patient, and family.
• Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences and barriers to involvement.
• This is a safety-sensitive position requiring alertness and safe work practices.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing

Experience: No experience required; <2 years preferred

Licenses & Certifications: RN license
