Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for Bliss 10i, a twelve-bed unit within the Heart and Vascular Institute. RNs monitor and treat patients with myocardial infarctions, cardiogenic shock, and post-cardiac arrest in a high-acuity setting.

The role requires CT RN licensure, BSN, and critical care certifications; prior cardiology/CC experience is preferred. A commitment to teamwork and Hartford HealthCare values is essential.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BSN is required.
• BLS, ACLS and arrhythmia certification required prior to hire.
• Telemetry experience strongly preferred.
• Cardiology/CC/Progressive Care experience preferred.
• ASN/ADN may be considered in exceptional circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care in the Bliss 10i unit.
• Monitor patients with telemetry equipment and assist with therapies.
• Collaborate with the Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, and Cardiovascular Surgical Team.

This is a posting for Bliss 10i, a twelve-bed unit within Hartford HealthCare's Heart and Vascular Institute, the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit's population primarily consists of patients with myocardial infarctions, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, and post-cardiac arrest. Registered Nurses (RNs) are trained in the use of specialized equipment to monitor and treat these patient populations. Some of these are: transvenous pacemakers, intra-aortic balloon pumps, temporary ventricular assist devices, pulmonary artery catheters, and targeted temperature management. The unit works closely with the Cardiac Catherization lab, Electrophysiology department, and the Cardiovascular Surgical Team.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required).
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association, ACLS certification, and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire.
• Minimum one year Telemetry experience strongly preferred.
• Previous Cardiology, Critical Care and/or Progressive Care experience preferred.
• In exceptional circumstances, candidates with an ASN/ADN may be considered for employment.
