Join Advocate Health as a Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Telemetry on the 7a-7p shift.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3 days a week, 12-hour shifts (72 hours per pay period)
• Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skilled dialogue, the RN leads efforts to ensure a safe patient environment and optimal patient experience. Responsibilities include delivering and coordinating patient-centered care across the continuum, supporting patient transitions, and utilizing assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with standards and policies.

This unit, with 50 beds, specializes in Cardiac Telemetry care for patients with complex cardiac diagnoses such as COPD, CHF, A Fib, post-open heart surgery, and post-cardiac procedures like cath and pacemakers. It also includes an observation area.

Position Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current IL RN license
• BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with plans to complete BSN within four years or obtain certification within one year of hire
• Minimum 1 year Telemetry or Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Current AHA CPR; ACLS preferred
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and various shifts; may require on-call
• Ability to respond promptly to patients and access all unit areas
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds; patient handling equipment used for heavier lifts
• Work environment includes exposure to hazardous conditions and infectious specimens
• Ability to assist in patient evacuation during emergencies
