Additional Information About the Role

This unit provides the opportunity to care for acute conditions, titrate high risk drips, and care for patients requiring continuous telemetry. Our registered nurses receive additional training such as ECG, acute care, LVAD, and ACLS certification.

Career Ladder and Med/Surg Incentive Package Eligible, including:

  • Additional PTO (Experienced RNs only)
  • Enhanced Sign-On Bonus: $20,000 OR $15,000 Sign-On Bonus plus $15,000 Loan Repayment (Experienced RNs only)

Overview

Barnes-Jewish Hospital, part of Washington University Medical Center, is Missouri's largest hospital and ranked among the top hospitals nationally. It is a Magnet Hospital recognized for nursing excellence.

The cardiology division cares for various cardiology patients including those with heart failure, LVADs, post-procedures, and more. The Staff Nurse (RN) assesses and cares for patients using critical thinking and must be certified in BLS and ACLS within one year.

Responsibilities
  • Promote patient and family-centered care, educate on illness management, and participate in safety and quality initiatives.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patient/family.
  • Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient values and barriers.
  • This position is safety-sensitive; alertness and safety are essential.
  • Minimum Requirements
    • Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate's Degree
    • Experience: None required
    • Licenses & Certifications: RN
