Job summary

PIH Health Whittier Hospital is seeking an experienced Cath Lab nurse to provide direct patient care, including assessments, care plans, education, and evaluation for assigned patients. You will coordinate with the care team to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate has two years of Cath Lab nursing experience, current BLS and ACLS certification, and strong knowledge of medical terminology, infection control, safety, and the ability to use monitors, oxygen

Qualifications

• Two years Cath Lab nursing experience.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control and safety.
• Knowledge of diagnostic tests and their preparations.
• Knowledge in the legal aspects of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care including assessments, care plans, education, and evaluation.
• Coordinate delivery of care with other team members to maintain patient flow.

Job description

Provides direct nursing care including assessments, care plan, education, and evaluation for assigned patients. Performs patient duties necessary to maintain the flow of patient care as well as coordinates the delivery of care provided by other care team members and disciplines.

Required Skills

• Strong verbal, written and computer skills.

• Principles of patient/family teaching.
• Knowledge and experience with administering of IV and PO drugs and their possible adverse reactions.
• Knowledge of diagnostic test and their preparations.
• Knowledge in the legal aspects of nursing.
• Knowledge and demonstrated skill using special equipment such as monitors, oxygen equipment, SPO2 monitors, EKG machines, defibrillators, etc.

Required Experience

• Two years Cath Lab nursing experience
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certification
• 12 Lead electrocardiogram and arrhythmia detection knowledge

Preferred:

• BSN/MSN
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills
