Job Description:

The cardiac catheterization / EP lab is a busy environment providing procedures such as cardiac catheterization with stents and shockwave, CSI, Rota bladder, Laser, Impella, balloon pump, TEE, ablations, and Cardioversions. We also perform same-day discharge procedures where patients recover for 4 hours and may go home if they meet discharge criteria. Our schedule is published monthly. Staff work four 10-hour shifts, with on-call duties during weekdays, weekends, and holidays, including 2-3 days per week and every third weekend, depending on staffing and vacations. Conemaugh Hospital has chest pain accreditation and provides 24/7 STEMI call coverage. EP staff work five 8-hour shifts with no on-call or weekend/holiday duties.

Qualifications include:

• Critical Care Course or completion within 6 months
• CPR and ACLS certifications or obtained within 6 months
• One year of nursing experience
• Arrhythmia and critical care courses or obtained within one year
• Preferred: one year nursing experience in cath lab
• RCIS Certification preferred
