Job summary

St. Mary’s Health Care System in Athens, GA seeks a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab to deliver high-quality care as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will assess patients, develop care plans, and participate in procedural nursing.

The role requires at least 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience and GA RN license; BLS/ACLS certification is expected. Day shifts with 4-10 hour shifts and rotating call, with a sign-on bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• GA RN license in good standing with nursing education program approved by GA Board.
• BLS and ACLS certifications through American Heart Association.
• Prior Cardiac Care experience preferred or PACU/Critical Care background.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop, evaluate, and modify care plans.
• Collaborate with care teams to achieve patient outcomes.
• Provide nursing care using nursing process, environment, and team.
• Deliver care for cardiac cath lab patients during shifts.

Position Purpose

Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab RN works in a collaborative environment at St Mary’s Health Care System to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. A Registered Nurse RN is expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience. What you will do

• Cardiac Cath Lab is a procedural unit consisting of two labs. We stop a heart attack!

• Under limited supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan. The RN interprets and performs complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise.

• RNs are members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care.

• The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame.

• The RN provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.

• Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing or found by the Board to be substantially equivalent to the programs in Georgia.

• Successful completion of a refresher course within the past 6 months if nursing practice has not occurred within the past 5 years.

• Prior experience in Cardiac Care preferred or prior PACU, Critical Care. Must be BLS and ACLS certified thru the American Heart Association.
