Job summary

St Mary’s Health Care System in Athens, GA seeks a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab. The RN will participate in a two-lab procedural unit, assess patients, develop and modify care plans, and support the interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based care.

Candidates must have a Georgia RN license, graduate from an accredited program, and BLS/ACLS. One year Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred; day shift with rotating call and comprehensive benefits from Day One.

Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN license required.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Refresher course within 6 months if practice paused in last 5 years.
• Prior Cardiac Care preferred; PACU/CC experience a plus; BLS and ACLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop, evaluate, and modify the care plan.
• Interpret and perform complex nursing procedures within expertise.
• Collaborate with Care Team to achieve patient outcomes.
• Provide care using nursing process, environment, and team support.
• Deliver patient care in a two-lab Cardiac Cath Lab unit.

Description: Must have at least 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience in order to be eligible for Sign On Bonus.

4 - 10 hour shifts + rotating call - 7a-5:30p Week Days

Position Purpose:

Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab RN works in a collaborative environment at St Mary’s Health Care System to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. A Registered Nurse RN is expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience. What you will do:

• Cardiac Cath Lab is a procedural unit consisting of two labs. We stop a heart attack!
• Under limited supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan. The RN interprets and performs complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise.
• RNs are members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care.
• The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame.
• The RN provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing or found by the Board to be substantially equivalent to the programs in Georgia.
• Successful completion of a refresher course within the past 6 months if nursing practice has not occurred within the past 5 years.
• Prior experience in Cardiac Care preferred or prior PACU, Critical Care. Must be BLS and ACLS certified thru the American Heart Association.
