Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiac 7am to 7pm Full Time

Join us as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Unit at Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington, IL.

• Scheduled Hours: 7am to 7pm
• Full-time position
• Unit with 24 beds focusing on Cardiac, Observation, and Neuro Patients
• Eligible for up to $20,000 Student Loan Forgiveness

Job Summary

Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skilled dialogue, the RN leads efforts to create a safe patient environment and excellent patient experience. The nurse delivers patient-centered care across the continuum, supporting transitions to other healthcare systems or home. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, following established standards, policies, and procedures.

Position Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current IL RN license
• BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with commitment to complete BSN within four years or obtain certification within one year if more than 12 months of experience
• Current AHA CPR certification
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and various shifts; some positions may require taking call
• Ability to respond promptly to patient needs and access all areas of the unit
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds; patient handling equipment to be used for heavier lifts with team assistance
