This ladder enables nurses with varying experience levels to advance through competency-based levels, including required certifications and leadership demonstrations.

Nurses at entry level begin with less than 12 months of experience and may progress through multiple levels by meeting competency and certification criteria, including precepting and charge

Qualifications

• No experience required; entry at Level one with diploma, ADN, BSN, or higher
• Includes progression for 1–7+ years with increasing competencies and certifications
• Participation in QI and/or shared governance at unit, then organization/system levels
