Job Overview

Position: Registered Nurse (RN), Behavioral Medicine PRN/Hourly
Type: PRN/Hourly | 12-hour shifts per pay period

Department/Unit Summary

The Adult Psychiatric Unit is a 29-bed locked unit providing comprehensive mental health care to individuals aged 18-59. Patients over 59 are evaluated individually. Patients typically have primary DSM 5 diagnoses, with possible additional diagnoses such as Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, or medical comorbidities. Admission criteria include medical stability. Safety protocols include 15-minute safety checks, staff monitoring, and staff presence during meals and visits. Nursing care includes daily psychiatric assessments, therapy, and medication management tailored to meet emotional, behavioral, physical, cultural, educational, and spiritual needs. Staff work 12-hour shifts (7A & 7P) fostering teamwork.
