Position: Registered Nurse (RN), Behavioral Medicine Clinical Coordinator

Type: Full-time | 3p-11:30p with EOW and Holidays

Department/Unit Summary

The Adult Psychiatric Unit is a 29-bed locked unit providing comprehensive mental health care to individuals aged 18-59. Patients over 59 are evaluated individually. The unit primarily admits patients with primary DSM-5 diagnoses, possibly with additional diagnoses such as Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, or medical comorbidities. Patients must be medically stable for admission. Safety practices include 15-minute safety checks, staff monitoring of all community areas, and staff presence during meals and visiting hours. Nursing care involves daily psychiatric assessments, therapy, and medication management to meet the emotional, behavioral, physical, cultural, educational, and spiritual needs of adult patients. Nurses work 12-hour shifts (7A & 7P). Teamwork is emphasized among staff.

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school
  • Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire
  • BSN or commitment to obtain within 5 years
  • Minimum two years in acute care
  • Managerial experience preferred
