Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse in Behavioral Health for a part-time role in the PHP program. You will provide patient-centered care, support therapy goals, and coordinate treatment with an interdisciplinary team.

The position requires an accredited nursing program, an active RN license, and BLS certification; psychiatric nursing experience and CPI de-escalation training are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
  • 1 year of RN experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
  • CPI de-escalation certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process.
  • Administer medications and document care in accordance with standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for treatment planning and patient advocacy.

Monday-Friday 0800-1630, Wednesdays 6:00 PM-9:00 PM. Wednesdays, Fridays 0800-1630 Psych RN coverage most needed and when the Psych RNs go on vacation.

Pay Range: $38.20 - $57.30

Adults Wide range of diagnoses, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other psychiatric conditions. Teamwork, high emphasis on building therapeutic relationships with patients. Highly desired skills include communication, hard-working, multi-tasking, engagement. Collaborative.

We’re Looking For:
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience in psychiatric nursing preferred
  • CPI de-escalation certification preferred
What You’ll Do:
  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
  • Duties will include medication administration, care documentation, interdisciplinary team treatment planning, 1 to 1 patient communication, advocating for patient needs.
