Job summary

Atrium Health Behavioral Health Charlotte is seeking a registered nurse to join an adult inpatient psychiatric unit. You will coordinate and deliver holistic nursing care, aligned with established policies and procedures, to support stabilization and recovery for patients in crisis.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety culture, and compassionate care. Requires RN licensure, an accredited nursing program, and BLS certification; inpatient psychiatry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited nursing program and be a graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (American Heart Association).
• Experience in inpatient psychiatric or crisis settings preferred.

Where You Will Work:

One North is a 26-bed adult inpatient behavioral health unit that provides safe, structured, and recovery-oriented care for individuals experiencing acute psychiatric crises. Our multidisciplinary team supports stabilization, therapeutic engagement, and crisis management within a compassionate and secure environment. The unit emphasizes teamwork, accountability, strong communication, and a culture of safety for both patients and teammates.

We're Looking For:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience in an inpatient psychiatric or crisis setting preferred.

What You'll Do:

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

About This Location:

Atrium Health Behavioral Health Charlotte, a facility of Carolinas Medical Center, is the only dedicated psychiatric emergency department in the region and provides treatment across a broad continuum of inpatient and outpatient services. Our center is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
