Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a part-time Night RN for the Behavioral Health Emergency Screening department at New Brunswick. You will perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians to ensure timely, safe care.

You will educate patients and families, document in EPIC EMR, and participate in rounds. A BSN is preferred, with BLS/ACLS, and 1 year of Behavioral Health experience strongly desired.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in Behavioral Health.
• BSN preferred or to be completed within 5 years of hire.
• ACLS preferred or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Experience in Emergency Department or Behavioral Health/Psychiatric settings is advantageous.
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR system.

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes early.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification with at least 1 year of RN experience within Behavioral Health. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is strongly preferred or must be completed within 5 years upon hire. ACLS certification is preferred or must be obtained within 6 months of employment. Prior RN experience within Emergency Department or Behavioral Health or Psychiatric specialty is highly preferred and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a Part-Time Night Shift schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Monday – Friday with weekend and holiday rotations, 24 hours per week, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
