Job summary

Saline Memorial Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Behavioral Health RN to join a 29-bed unit. You will assess patient needs, administer treatments, and ensure safety while collaborating with RNs, LPNs, and CNAs to deliver compassionate care.

Education includes an Associate's degree; BSN preferred. RN license with Tennessee or a Compact State is required, plus BLS within 30 days. A focus on patient education and emotional well-being is essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN with Tennessee or Compact State and Tennessee paperwork.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Previous Behavioral Health experience required.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process.
• Administer medications, collect specimens, and perform treatments.
• Document care and monitor patient condition.
• Assist with activities of daily living and safety.
• Coordinate patient care across disciplines and with care team.

Join our team in a 29-bed Behavioral Health unit where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). You will play a crucial role in assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care.

A Behavioral Health RN who excels in this role:

Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

Documents patient care given.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we're looking for

Education: Associate's degree required. BSN preferred.

Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire

Licenses: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse with the State of Tennessee or a licensed Registered Nurse from a Compact State with the proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.
