Job summary

The Registered Nurse in Arrhythmia Care at Chippenham Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a progressive unit. You will collaborate with physicians to deliver pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, advocate for patients, and support an exceptional patient experience.

This PRN position requires a BSN (preferred), Virginia RN license (or Compact), at least 1 year of acute care experience, and BLS. ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of start.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting required.
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

Education

The Registered Nurse in Arrhythmia Care coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered progressive care.
