Overview

• Department: Ambulatory Surgery

• Schedule: days, 8-hour shifts

• Facility: Prime Healthcare St Francis Hospital

• Location: Evanston, IL 60201

Responsibilities
  • The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care within the scope of practice in the Outpatient Services setting.
  • The RN communicates with physicians, Director of Surgical Services, House Supervisor, and co-workers about changes in the patient's clinical condition, including diagnostic results and symptoms.
  • The RN responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
  • The RN coordinates patient care with surgeons and/or anesthesiologists, guiding other personnel while maintaining standards of care within the outpatient department.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure quality patient care, efficient patient flow, and proper unit maintenance and organization.
  • Ensures adherence to regulations, standards, and hospital policies.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services. Acts as a resource for staff as appropriate.
Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Training:

  1. Current and valid state RN license.
  2. Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire, maintained current.
  3. ACLS certification within 30 days of hire, maintained current.
  4. PALS certification within 30 days of hire, maintained current.
  5. Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
  6. Moderate Sedation competency completed within 30 days of hire.
  7. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Saint Francis Hospital offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, 401K, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and voluntary benefits. The estimated total compensation ranges from $35.35 to $53.58 per hour, depending on skills, experience, education, credentials, and licensure. The exact offer will be determined at hire.
