Registered Nurse RN Ambulatory Allergy Research Contingent - Detroit

Registered Nurse RN - Research Allergy - Detroit (One Ford Place & Detroit Main Campus)

Contingent -approx. 20 hours per 4 week - 8am - 4:30pm - no weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities Include: ability to obtain and maintain research certification and complete required training. Relevant clinical experience. Knowledge of research methodologies and principles, ability to interpret research protocols and procedures, excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and study teams, strong attention to detail and adherence to ethical guidelines related to human subject's research.

Will be working with pediatric patients (2 years and below) and adults. Strong Phlebotomy skills. Experience in working in an Allergy Clinic would be preferred.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates with the health care team. Demonstrates clinical competence. May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position, works independently and in collaboration with principle investigator.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor Degree preferred. Successful completion of HFMG Pharmacology test. Certification will be required when it is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard, i.e., Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN). Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel. Preferred experience in the specialty. Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS or ACLS per HFHS policy.
