Job summary

Ardent Health Services is recruiting a day shift, full-time Advanced Heart Failure Center Registered Nurse (RN) in Tulsa, OK. The CVOR RN will assess, plan, and implement perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures, while coordinating the intraoperative environment and advocating for the patient.

The role requires ADN/BSN, Oklahoma or multi-state RN license, ACLS/PALS within specified times, and BLS within 14 days.

Qualifications

• ADN or BSN degree required.
• 1+ year nursing experience.
• Oklahoma RN license or multi-state license.
• ACLS within 30 days of hire; PALS within 30 days of hire.
• BLS within 14 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document perioperative nursing care for cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgery patients.
• Act as circulating nurse to coordinate intraoperative environment and ensure sterile technique and patient safety.
• Demonstrate knowledge of complex cardiac, thoracic and vascular procedures and participate in high-acuity perioperative care.

• Hillcrest Medical Center is a 656-bed hospital that includes The Alexander Burn Center, The Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center, Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute.

Responsibilities

• The Cardiothoracic and Vascular Operating Room Registered Nurse (CVOR RN) is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures.
• As the circulating nurse, the RN coordinates the intraoperative environment to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care by maintaining a sterile surgical environment, coordinating resources, promoting effective communication among the interdisciplinary team, and serving as the patient's advocate throughout the surgical experience.
• The CVOR RN demonstrates specialized knowledge of complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures, advanced surgical technology, patient safety principles, and perioperative nursing practice while exercising sound clinical judgment and critical thinking in a high-acuity surgical setting. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, professional nursing standards, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• ADN or BSN.
• Registered Nurse.
• A minimum of 1-year Nursing experience.
• Oklahoma or applicable Multi-state RN license (upon hire).
• ACLS (within 30 days of hire).
• PALS (within 30 days of hire).
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
