Location & Shift Details

Location: 47 Long Lots Rd Westport (10437)

Shift: RN 3rd shift, 11p-7:30a, 24 hours/week, including every other weekend and some holidays.

St. Vincent’s Behavioral Health Center in Westport is a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility for children, adolescents, and adults with mental health and dual diagnosis substance use disorders. It is part of Hartford HealthCare, Connecticut’s most comprehensive healthcare network.

Job Summary

Provides direct patient care to behavioral health patients per facility policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

1. Performs bio-psychosocial assessments; develops and updates nursing care plans.
2. Participates in treatment team conferences; assists in planning and revising patient goals.
3. Implements nursing care plans; conducts or co-leads group therapy sessions.
4. Evaluates patient responses; revises care plans accordingly.
5. Performs assessments considering physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-related needs.
6. Develops comprehensive care plans in collaboration with patients and families.
7. Provides direct care according to physician orders and protocols; documents appropriately.
8. Recognizes changes in patient status; revises care plans as needed.
9. Delegates care tasks to appropriate staff; collaborates with interdisciplinary team.
10. Adheres to ANA standards and ethical guidelines.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Valid RN license from Connecticut.
2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or Red Cross.
3. Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
4. Experience in acute psychiatric care preferred.
5. Leadership ability; capable of managing challenging patient behaviors.
