Job summary

Ottumwa Regional Health Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Acute Rehab Unit. This full-time night-shift role offers the opportunity to impact patient outcomes in a dedicated rehab unit within a comprehensive health system.

The position includes an upfront $15,000 commitment bonus for a 2-year engagement, along with standard benefits and tuition reimbursement options. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Qualifications

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for Rehab Unit patients.
• Coordinate patient care with a multidisciplinary team.
• Administer medications and provide clinical treatments as ordered.
• Document patient care and monitor patient condition.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Adhere to hospital policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for a given population based upon age specific and cultural needs. This is done in a collaborative multidisciplinary approach embracing quality and safety.
• Coordinates the delivery of patient care for the Rehab Unit, facilitates problem solving with staff members and communicates necessary issues to nursing administration and the Program Manager.
• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
