Job summary

Essentia Health St. Mary’s- Detroit Lakes is seeking an acute care supervisor to support nurse leadership in delivering high-quality care.

You will assess, direct, and evaluate nursing care, optimize patient transitions, and oversee staff orientation, education, and performance to meet standards and improve outcomes. This role focuses on staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, and collaboration with physicians, patients, and families.

Qualifications

• Detroit Lakes BSN or BAN from an accredited school or college of nursing within 3 years of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years previous RN experience.
• Current nursing licensure in state(s) of employment; BCLS certification within 1 month.

Job Description

The acute care supervisor will perform responsibilities under the direction of accountable nurse leadership. Assess, direct, manage and evaluate the delivery of nursing care and patient support services to achieve a specified standard of care and quality metrics for a designated patient population. Ensures streamlined patient care delivery systems, which promote smooth patient transitions across the continuum. Responsible for effective fiscal and operational management and maintains optimum patient care unit systems, including staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, and communication. This position collaborates in the development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities. Works with the accountable manager to ensure staff orientation, education, development and evaluations are completed.

Key Responsibilities
