Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Retirement Services, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to supervise nursing staff and coordinate resident care in a long-term care setting. The role emphasizes safety, communication with families, and adherence to facility policies.

Qualified candidates hold an active Ohio RN license with CPR certification and have at least 1 year of Long-Term Care experience. PointClickCare experience is a plus, with a commitment to compassionate, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Nursing Degree from an accredited program.
• A current, active Ohio RN license and CPR certification.
• At least 1 year of experience in long-term care.
• Experience with PointClickCare is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Explains procedures and treatments to residents to gain cooperation and understanding.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of residents.
• Communicates with family members regarding resident progress.
• Charts all required information regarding residents.
• Observes and directs nurse aide staff and assists in orientation of new staff.
• Observes residents and records significant conditions and reactions to drugs, treatments, and incidents.
• Responds to life‑saving situations per standards, policies, and protocol.
• Initiates resident education plans per facility policy.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities per policies and applicable laws.

Registered Nurse (RN) Responsibilities

• Explains procedures and treatments to residents to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of resident.
• Communicates with family members regarding the progress of the resident.
• Charts all required and necessary information regarding the residents.
• Observes and directs the nurse aide staff, and assists in orientation of new staff.
• Observes resident, records significant conditions and reactions to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
• Responds to life‑saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
• Initiates a resident education plan according to the individualized needs of the resident, as prescribed by facility policy including resident and family instruction.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements

• Must hold a Nursing Degree from an accredited program, college, or university.
• A current, unencumbered, active OHIO RN License and current CPR.
• At least 1 year of experience in Long-Term Care.
• Experience in Point Click Care is a plus.
