Job summary

Ovid Healthcare Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to oversee and coordinate resident care across assigned shifts, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans while guiding LPNs, CNAs, and other team members to maintain high-quality care and safety.

Qualifications

• Active RN license to practice in Michigan.
• CPR certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises LPNs, CNAs, and other care staff.
• Plans and directs work to meet resident needs and safety.
• Assigns work, schedules, and staffing levels with safety in mind.
• Receives staffing-related calls and arranges replacements as needed.
• Transfers staff between units based on demand.
• Conducts performance evaluations and aids in hiring decisions.
• Oversees unit operations in absence of higher-level management.
• Apply independent judgment per policies and laws.

Salary: $39.40 - $44.65

Sign-on Bonus: $10,000 FT & $5,000 PT

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing, overseeing, and coordinating the delivery of resident care during assigned shifts in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating resident care plans while ensuring the highest degree of quality care and safety. The RN supervises and supports licensed practical nurses (LPNs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs), and other team members to ensure continuity of care and serves as a key resource for residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises LPNs, Medication Aides, CNAs/STNAs and other staff providing direct care
• Plans, assigns, and directs work in alignment with resident needs and staff capabilities
• Prepares work assignments, adjusting for staffing levels and resident safety
• Receives staffing-related calls and arranges replacements as needed
• Transfers employees among units per staffing demands
• Completes performance evaluations and provides input on hiring, disciplining, or terminating staff
• Adjusts break schedules and resolves staff concerns
• Oversee unit operations during absence of higher-level management
• Use independent judgment in accordance with company policies and applicable laws

Education and/or Experience:

• Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience in long-term or sub-acute preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Current state license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Current CPR certification or CPR certification within 90 days of employment
