Westminster Towers Orlando in Orlando, FL is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct nursing care in the Health Center and supervise nursing assistants. Responsibilities include admissions/discharges, day-case load reviews, documentation, and coordination with physicians.

Must hold Florida RN license and CPR certification; LTC experience preferred. The role supports dining, daily care plans, and emergency coverage within a team-driven setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage admissions and discharges on day shift.
• Review day case load with Med nurse and responsibilities.
• Ensure accurate daily skilled documentation for Med A residents.
• Notify MD/NP with issues as appropriate.
• Review labs and x‑rays and address findings.
• Handle incidents with documentation and SBAR.
• Oversee pharmacy deliveries and medication availability.
• Attend morning admissions review and care plan meetings.
• Assist with staffing and shift coverage.
• Maintain EMAR/ETAR documentation and Smart Charting.

Description

We are currently searching for a Registered Nurse (RN) to work in the Health Center. This role provides direct nursing care to residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with state and federal standards.

Schedule: This position is part time.

This position is responsible for:

• Manage all admissions and discharges that occur on the day shift
• Meet with each Med nurse to review day case load and special responsibilities
• Review all new admissions from previous day to ensure admission check list is completed
• Complete or verify completion of daily skilled documentation for all Med A residents that were assigned for day team
• Notify MD/NP with issues as appropriate
• Review labs and x-rays and ensure all have been addressed
• Complete all skin inspections and Braden inspections according to schedule
• Emergency support
  • Assist nurses in printing emergency records, calling for transport completing SBAR
  • Support other nurses in utilizing med dispense when necessary
• Incidents and Accidents
  • Complete documentation for all Incidents including witness statements
    • • Initial incident documentation
      • Progress not describing care provided
      • Update care plan with new prevention intervention suggestion
• Manage Pharmacy deliveries and troubleshoot any problems with medication availability or order
• Attend morning meeting to review all new admissions
• Attend Base Line Care plan meetings with residents/families
• Other Duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing
• Staffing
  • Managing evening shift call offs (weekends and holidays)
  • Verify that all day staff arrive and they are aware of their assignments
  • Review upcoming evening shift staffing and manage any problems using the staffing book.
  • Monitor AHT compliance
    • EMAR/ETAR documentation
    • Smart Charting

Education & Experience: Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse. Must be CPR Certified. One (1) year of long-term care desirable. Experience working with the elderly, handicapped or developmentally disabled adults preferred. Bachelor's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
