Registered Nurse (RN)

AtCedarbrook Senior Living, we work hard every day to find out what “CelebratingLife Every Day!” means to our residents and their families, then we help themachieve these goals. We are seeking a dynamic Registered Nurse (RN) for our Bloomfield Hills community.

Responsibilities:

  • Explains procedures and treatments to resident to gain cooperation, understanding, and alleviate apprehension.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
  • Prepares equipment and aids Medical Director during examination and/or treatment of resident.
  • Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of resident.
  • Observes resident. Records significant conditions, reactions, and notifies supervisor or Medical Director of resident’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
  • Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of resident.
  • Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
  • Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned residents.
  • Initiates a resident education plan according to the individualized needs of the resident, as prescribed by Physician and/or community policy including resident and family instruction.
  • Makes beds, bathes and feeds residents.
  • Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities.
  • May need to respond as appropriate to personal calls from other health center units in the community. Duties in this setting may include but are not limited to providing First Aid, call emergency personnel (dial 911), and/or call family members at request of residents.
Education/Experience:
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a license in good standing in the State of Michigan.
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred.
  • Minimum of two years related experience required.
