Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Maine is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a collaborative team serving Lewiston, Bridgton, and Rumford. The Float RN will deliver direct patient care, work across medical-surgical, emergency, and outpatient settings, and maintain competency across units.

The role requires an RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS, with acute care experience preferred. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 and comprehensive benefits are offered to eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• Able to float to two (2) or more units and maintain competency within assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation).
• Float RN may be assigned to two or more units based on need and will maintain competency in all units.
• Direct patient care within the scope of practice and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in patient condition and test results.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Float RN can be assigned to two (2) or more units based on need and will maintain competency to practice in all units. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The RN also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care. The RN is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients on an assigned unit. She/he/them communicates with the physician about the changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
